Open doors, connected lives
Building stronger connections between care homes and communities in Wales.
Care homes are more than places of care; they’re part of our communities. They’re full of stories, friendships, creativity, and life.
Open doors, connected lives is a national campaign led by Age Cymru and funded by Welsh Government, to:
- Build understanding of the value of strong community–care home relationships
- Challenge outdated stereotypes about ageing and residential care
- Enable engagement – give care homes, professionals and communities the tools to connect confidently
Together, we can create care home communities where everyone feels seen, valued and connected.
Campaign resources
We’ve developed a set of free, practical resources to help different groups take part in the campaign.
