Resident wellbeing

At the heart of compassionate, person-centred care in Wales is the wellbeing of residents. This means supporting the emotional, physical, and social health of older people living in care homes.

Wellbeing is shaped by a person’s sense of purpose, connection, and dignity. When care homes create spaces where residents feel safe, respected, and empowered, every stage of life in the care home becomes more fulfilling.

By prioritising wellbeing, we not only improve quality of life but also strengthen relationships and build vibrant communities within care settings across Wales.

Resident wellbeing toolkit

This toolkit can be used by all care home staff, family, friends and residents and aims to provide resources, ideas and share the best practice gathered from care homes across Wales.

Open doors, connected lives

Care homes are more than places of care; they’re part of our communities. They’re full of stories, friendships, creativity, and life.
