Pension Awareness Week

Published on 15 September 2026 09:00 AM

This Pension Awareness Week, we've teamed up with HMRC to provide information and support about pensions

Retirement often brings changes to your finances that can feel unfamiliar, and for many people, tax is one of the trickiest parts to get their head around. Once you start receiving a State Pension, a private pension, or both, your tax situation can become more complex than you might expect, especially if you have been in a job where your tax has been sorted for you.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. It's completely normal not to know everything about how your pension and your tax work. But there’s no need to feel overwhelmed.

This Pension Awareness Week, visit Tax Confident to build the tax knowledge you need to feel informed, capable and in control. Whether you're already receiving a pension or you're still planning for retirement, Tax Confident offers clear, trusted information about how pensions and tax work.

This week, take some time to learn more about your pension and what it means for your finances.
