Advocacy Counts
Advocacy Counts 10
Advocacy Counts 10 is the latest report in a biennial survey series by Age Cymru tracking advocacy provision for adults across Wales, with a particular focus on older people.
The report finds that the number of advocates and funded advocacy services across Wales has fallen since the previous survey, published in 2024. It also points to a significant reduction in services dedicated to supporting people aged 50 and over, with fewer organisations, services and advocates now available.
At the same time, demand is rising. Across all advocacy services in Wales, the total number of people supported over the past 12 months has increased. Without increased, secure and sustainable long-term funding, the pressures identified in this and previous surveys will continue to grow. Advocacy remains vital in helping people understand their rights, make informed choices and have their voices heard.
